La Friperie Update

Today I spent almost the entire day sorting and tagging items for La Friperie.  We've collected over 777 items so far, with me tagging 191 items today, alone.  Tomorrow, Peggy says, we are bringing them to the storage unit and bringing the items we can't use to goodwill.  Hopefully someone else can make use of it.

Tomorrow afternoon, I'm probably going to enter the new items into the excel file so we can keep track of how many items we have and how many of each type and size we have.  This will help us understand how heavy the next few donations will be.

We even tagged all of the purses, shoes and belts.  All that is left is jewelry.  We got our first donation of jewelry in this morning.  Hopefully we will get more jewelry/accessory and clothing donations in next week.

Peggy decided that we were going to include maternity-wear in La Friperie, since those are women in transition between life stages also.  We only have one thing so far, but hopefully people will donate more.

For the last hour or so, I've been searching through the archives of all of the Baton Rouge area magazines for any mention of the YWCA so I can make a marketing book for 2010 to show which publications actually used our press releases and which ones ignored us.  This also helps us know who is hearing about the YWCA's events and story.

If you or anyone you know has any gently-worn business clothes, jewelry, handbags, maternity-wear, or shoes, please let me know or drop them off to the YWCA's office at 8281 Goodwood Blvd Suite B1, TU-TH 9-12 or 1-4. Please spread the word!

Until tomorrow,
-R

  1. I need to remember to get my old jewelry at home this weekend. It will give me an excuse to visit next week!
