Today I spent a majority of the day preparing and attending the YWCA's August Connections Luncheon. It is a luncheon for ladies to encourage networking and to hear from relevant speakers. It is hosted at Juban's on the first Tuesday of every month (except January and February - second Tuesday of each month). The speaker today spoke about the importance of women being involved in their finances and savings. It was very helpful, but very overwhelming at the same time. I'm going to start a retirement fund now. I bet Chelsea would agree.
After the luncheon was over, we went next door to the future location of La Friperie so everyone could see the location and how the store would be set up. It's a really large space and I'm really excited to be working on this project. Now all we need is to sign the lease and gather as many donations as possible.
Back at the office, I spent the afternoon sending out press releases about the Connections Luncheon from today to various local publications. I also sent out press releases regarding La Friperie and the much-needed donations to other local publications.
Last project of the day is to gather all the newspaper and magazine articles, as well as any ads, involving the YWCA from 2010 and compile a binder of information so we can keep a log for an annual marketing report.
Tomorrow I get to sort through and tag about 10 bags of items for La Friperie (unless anyone wants to drop anything off to me tonight).
Until then,
- R
